The Famous Opera House

Last night, we returned to the famous Opera and Ballet Theatre to see Swan Lake.  I've never been to a ballet except the Nutcracker many years ago, and hoped it would be easier to follow than the opera, Madame Butterfly.

Magnificent! Two Thumbs Up.   The costumes were exquisite and glittery.  The dancers moved effortlessly and gracefully around the floor.  And once the music began, I was captivated by the entire performance.  The delicate swan pirouettes, Tchaivosky's songs, all of it was absolutely enthralling.

But, when The Black Swan did her 32 fouettes (spinning around on 1 foot 32 times) the audience could not contain themselves and cheered.  I do not know how she remained upright once completed, but Andy seems to think she's had a little more practice than I.
I tried a couple moves with Sarah today, and she wasn't interested.  I'm also not very graceful:(
(I looked all the terms up before writing.  A dance expert I am not!)

I do want to see Natalie Portman's portrayal of The Black Swan.

Cameras weren't allowed during the performance, but I was able to give you a glimpse of the inside artistry.
